“Thug Me Like That”
One of Atlanta’s top female artists Akbar V has been chasing her dreams on becoming a successful artist for a lifetime, persistantly working on her craft, fearlessly going after every opportunity that could help her get the break she needed to be heard. After working hard and releasing a couple of mixtapes she finally recieved one of many blessing that helped her reach a new level in her career; K. Michelle reached out to her, noticing her talent and tireless pursuit for success. The outcome was one of her biggest songs to date, “Thug Me Like That” where K. Michelle sings the hook and Akbar V delivers passionate bars on a song about a love story halted by infidelity.
The “Thug Me Like That” music video is directed by the renown filmmaker Cricket, which tells the story of Akbar V falling for a guy who isn’t being honest with her, she eventually finds out and ends the relationship vindictively. V shows a sexy but classy side of her usually gangsta persona in the video sporting a black teddy, with a beautiful necklace, and also has a few cameos by rapper Jhonni Blaze, celebrity stylist Shekinah and Quality Control’s artist Kollision plays Akbar V’s cheating love interest. K. Michelle did not make the video but had a facetimed appearance giving V the final go ahead on leaving the relationship with a little payback.
